Chenab is one of the most widely used sand in Central/Upper Punjab and Islamabad region for construction purposes. News are coming that due to flood situations in India, excess water has been released in chenab river hence making it difficult to extract sand from the river beds. As a result prices of sand have suddenly witnessed a sharp increase in its price and availability has also become difficult.
In Lahore an approximately 1100 cubic ft dumper that was easily available in price range of 27 to 30 Rs/cubit ft has gone upto 35-37 Rs/cubic ft.
